What To Expect

Early in the morning, you’ll meet your guide at La Bodeguita Pier in Cartagena, who’ll help you check in smoothly. Then, you’ll board the boat and start sailing on the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea toward the Rosario Islands (Islas del Rosario).

Just 45 minutes later, you’ll arrive at Bora Bora Beach Club on Isla Grande, where you’ll be greeted with a welcome cocktail and led to your Beach Bed, where you’ll be free to relax for the day.

Swim in the warm water; relax beneath the shade of a palm tree; or walk along the white sands of this private beach. At lunchtime, you’ll be served a traditional Colombian meal with three options. Then, at 3pm, you’ll board the boat and head back to the city.

This island was absolutely a beautiful site to see. We enjoyed the staff's hospitality, services, and enthusiasm! The water was clear as day. However, there were too many rocks when we initially were in the shallow area. With that being said, I do suggest bringing water shoes. The boat ride to the island was rough along the way with the waves of the water being strong. Otherwise, this was a nice day to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Amazing day in VIP beach bed

Amazing day at the resort, we booked the VIP option and loved every second of it. The food is okay, drinks were a bit better, but its the experience of laying on a beach bed and jumping into the water. The ocean front is a bit small on the VIP side, but still very nice. I just wished the time didnt pass so quick. Would definitely return.

The atmosphere, and the ambiance of the island was amazing. If each little cabana had a little fan attached to them it would’ve been perfect, but the waiter he was good, and it especially good because he did speak a little English as well. Overall I would definitely recommend/do again.

Great beach day

Loved everything and everyone about this excursion. This was a great beach day for sure. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city with top notch service. We did pay extra for VIP. Then we paid an additional $25 USD for the front beds. We loved it and will do this again when we come back.

I read some of the bad reviews. But still booked. Went with my girlfriend. We had a great time and it was a wonderful experience. But… My suggestion to make sure you get the most out of it… get ready to spend an extra $125 usd in cash. Go on the early boat (7:30) and pay the $25 USD for the upfront Cabana (1-6). Your girl will love it, because she will feel special. And it gives both of you a perfect VIP view of the ocean. Then get bottle service ($75 USD) and enjoy the day. Don’t forget tip money if you have a good waiter. Which we did.

Bora Bora isn’t a Bore!

The atmosphere of Bora Bora Beach Club is probably everything you'd expect it to be: Beach, sand, cabanas, music and food. However, the ride to and from there wasn't as pleasant for your bottom or stomach. The numerous flies that attack you just by laying in your cabana or Beach chairs is overwhelming and forces you to Want to be in the water. The food is great but not every fish has enough meat. Lastly, the music although they tried to be all inclusive was mainly house/techno but nonetheless, this was a cool experience and I would highly recommend doing this as a group or couple! P.S. if you plan on getting in the water please purchase water shoes as the rocks in the beach could be unbearable!

Great experience. The people there were all very nice. We did the VIP and we had a separate area calmer but you can go back and forth. Water was clear. Great overall experience.

Bora Bora Beach Club was beautiful and the water looked amazing and felt great. The staff were amazing. The food was delicious as well I chose the grilled chicken (Pollo a la parrilla). The beds were comfortable and spacious, they can fit about 3 people comfortably. Make sure you have COP because they do not take card for the docking fee. I was the only one in my group without a spouse, friend or family member(s) but I did not let that discourage me from a relaxing and fun experience. I recommend this tour to everyone whether you’re a group, couple or solo.

Weathered the storm

Booked this excursion in advance for an all girls trip. Day of the trip, forecast called for rain until noon. On arrival greeted by staff and provided welcome drink. We had a cabana near the back, all others were taken and entire front row (ocean view) was reserved for a Bachelor party. It drizzled early in the day and poured down rain for majority of our time at Bora Bora beach club. The staff was friendly, the DJ’s were great… but it was the Bachelor party that made the experience MEMORABLE!!! Such a great group of men, I believe there were around (10–14) in total. It was their energy, hospitality and kindness that stole the show. If you’re planning on this excursion try your best to plan it around the weather to truly enjoy the amenities. It was challenging to get great photos, and any type of massage. Overall would probably visit again as part of a 5 island tour and not the full day.

Great experience to the Rosario Islands. Quicker boat ride than I expected. Beautiful area with two sections from which to access the warm clear waters and several amenities once there. Know: 1) this is a popular place; be patient with the process, 2)bring cash for the dock fees(?) prior to boarding, 3)have your ID (or picture of it) with you to check in before departure. I would recommend to see another beach option to Cartagena’s beaches.

This was such a nice trip. We were worried when we booked it because we were bringing our grandmother for her 85th birthday. The staff was so friendly made sure to sit us somewhere where she would be comfortable. The speed boat was exciting but not scary. The music was great. Would recommend to friends and family and would love to go again.
